Effect of Lap Joint Width to the Shear and Peel Stress Distribution of Bi-Adhesive

A single lap joint is one of the most popular types adhesive joints. This very easy to apply and gives satisfactory results. However, there an extensive shear stress distribution at both ends in a shallow middle. In this research, performance test bi-adhesive with different widths was carried out. We modelled 2D FEM consisting adherent aluminum, two adhesives DP490 ESP110 then performed static obtain peel distribution. The results presented that using improved compared individually.
